Feng Shui: Office Design Tips!

Some people may think that Feng Shui is, well to put it nicely - crap. But it's actually been proven to make a person happier, and more energetic which in turn leads to more production in the home office. You may need to do some homework when it comes to designing in this style of decor, but overall it's a pretty easy thing to figure out. First off, you should have the give elements present in the office, wood, fire, earth, metal and water. Two main things you should have in an office are plants and mirrors - at least one anyway. Even if you are a plant killer like me, there are plants out there that you can buy that are pretty independent, all you have to do is water them once in a blue moon.

Plants and mirrors stimulate the "chi" and nurture wealth and prosperity - something we can all use a little more of! You should also be able to look up from your desk and look outside, but some of you don't have this option! That's okay. You should also consider having a full view of the office from your entrance way.

You should ensure that (even in a home office) you have privacy. This can mean a door, which I don't have sadly. Or a cubicle of sorts. I decided to buy a main set of used office cubicles because the brand new ones were way too expensive! For your desk, it's not necessarily important if it's a piece of quality office furniture, but it should fit into the Feng Shui habitat of being tranquil. So that old beat up desk you have? Just isn't going to cut the mustard.

If price is an issue check out some of the options for refurbished office furniture, used office cubicles, and office furniture cubicles. These are pieces that have been repaired and sell for a MUCH cheaper price than a brand new product! It's also important that you take a look at your colors - options such as grays and blues, presenting metal and water respectively, are good to utilize for your business office. Metal promotes direction and clarity, and water promotes prosperity and creative thinking! If you follow these simple rules and make your office more peaceful and directional, I can bet that in a few days you are going to see not only a change in yourself, but also in your business and bank account!
