Tips on Creating A Small Office Design
Chances are if you’re starting a new business, you have limited office space, a small-medium sized room that has a few efficient items in it such as a desk, chair, couch, printer table and a few other additions. I don't know about anyone else, but for me – an office is a second home. It's a part of me and I like to decorate it so that it personifies my style and the rest of my home. This means that you can pretty much style it however you want, but it also still needs to be efficient and convenient in how you use the office. It's important to find a focal point in the room and work on creating an architectural element.
If you don't have an element such as a window or a fireplace, it’s okay to create one. For example, you can use your desk as a focal point and simple choose a nice product that "splits" the room in half. This is especially important if you plan on using your office for more than an office. In my office I decided to buy some refurbished office furniture such as a desk, used office cubicles and office furniture cubicles such as chairs and another table. So one side of my office is where I work, and the other side is my "entertainment" section if you will. It includes a small couch, television and my "outlet" to stress - my gaming system.
Hey, it's my office, I can do whatever I want! I also bought a wall decal which is somewhat like wallpaper, but it's easier to put up and easier to take down and it doesn't leave any marks. I have the whole Italian Tuscany theme going on in the office section. It's somewhat a calming type of decor I decided to go with. Your main focal point should catch a person's eye when they first walk in your office - try buying quality office furniture to accomplish this. Maybe a nice oak finished desk, or a cherry wood accent table. This is going to give your office a real sense of personality and elegance, but it's also going to keep your office organized and efficient for work.
